Is a gecopolimeriseerde version of isobutylene and isoprene. IRR in 1943 first used commercially.
Resistances and strengths:
IIR is an excellent low gas permeability and good flexibility, electrical properties, chemical resistance, moisture resistance, and wear resistance. It can function for extended periods of time at -50 gr. C to plus 120 gr. C. In addition, Butylcaoutchouc good ozone and aging resistance.
Weaknesses:
In mineral oils IRR is not applicable.
Application:
IRR is widely used in the production of inner tubes.
