Compression moulding
Moulding or “compression” is a production method which is pre-eminently suited for the manufacturing of rubber product in small and middle large series. This technique needs true craftsmanship, patience and experience. The craftsmanship becomes most clear when removing a very fragile and small rubber product from a mould without any damage or tearing.
How does it work?
A certain quantity of cold compound is placed in the “nest” of the mould. The quantity of compound always slightly exceeds the size of the nest, so pressure is created in the mould. The mould is then placed in a hydraulic moulding machine. Time, pressure and temperature will create vulcanization of the product.
Important advantages of this manufacturing process are:
- lower procurement costs
- shorter time of delivery
- each compound can be processed
